You know I love you, yeah…

I have a new love, a musical love that is… I heard her name in a dream last night.  A friend asked me if I was into Imogen Heap and I responded, “Oh yeah, of course!”  when in reality I had not yet savored her music.  I think in the dream I was trying to feel important, understood or just a “part” of some circle to which I did not yet belong. So this morning I googled her and found this tune.  (Apparently the song was used in a television show I’ve never seen).

I heard this song first in my chest…vibrating deep…into my heart and it was good.  It was as if the sound bypassed my ears altogether until the release near the end.  I like experiences that hit me like that.  I like those because they are hard to take for granted.  They require more time and more thought and more…something…anything…nothing.  It’s hard to explain.

There, there, baby

It’s just text book stuff

It’s in the ABC of growing up

Now, now, darlin’

Oh don’t lose your head

‘Cause none of us were angels

And you know I love you, yeah

  1. “I was trying to feel important, understood or just a “part” of some circle to which I did not yet belong.” – I get this in my waking life, a bit too much for my liking.

I like your description of how you heard this song. I like it a lot.
