I won’t tell you to “be patient” today. I will only tell you to “be.” I will ask you to be where you are and drink that in, even if it’s being sad, lonely, afraid or worried. I will ask you to breathe that, to listen to yourself, to let this moment happen without considering yet what lies ahead, when it will change, how you will feel. I will only ask that today you be where you are and breathe that in.
It’s possible you are standing at the edge of some great, new, wonderful thing…but it’s not yet time to move into it. You can see it from where you sit at the edge. You can smell the sweet green grass on the other side of the fence. You can hear the music coming from the celebration down the road. I know you want to be there even as you realize it’s not yet time.
I won’t tell you to be patient today, as you wait. I will only tell you to be. I will tell you that I know waiting is hard and yet often it is the only choice we have. And so, today, as you wait on that next new good thing to come, just be here, in this moment and feel what you feel. Let patience find you.
